Description

We are Dirty Paws Studio, a small and independent video game developer located in Klagenfurt, Austria. Established in 2020. Apart from participating in our various local game jams and working on smaller side-projects with students and friends, we are currently working on our first commercial game: Project Octopus. History

Born from passion. And our local game jams.

Since 2015, we have participated in over a dozen game jams events, both local and online. While also winning a couple of them, our greatest achievement was to get in touch with many creative people from the game development community, which we are always eager to support. In our day-to-day jobs, we have been working together in the software development industry since 2017, while developing some small side projects in our spare time. In 2019, we decided to give it a shot and start making games professionally.

Startup programs

In 2019, we attended a program on startup design by the Austrian Economic Chamber (Wirtschaftskammer). In 2020, we got approved for funding by the KWF (based on the European Regional Development Fund by the EU). In 2021, we joined the Build! Gründerzentrum programme Build! Advanced II.

Project Octopus

In 2020, we started working on Project Octopus, our first commercial video game. We also count this as our official founding year.

Electric Alps

In 2022, we shifted our focus on our new game, Electric Alps. A 2D puzzle game about wiring up a remote Austrian village.

Video Games in Klagenfurt

Both due to our local game jams and our education, we are tied in friendship with our local university. Thanks to their effort, Klagenfurt's community for game studies and development has grown significantly in the last few years. We see it as a fundamental part of our mission to support and promote this community in every way we can.
